Burnout. Depressive moods. Lack of motivation.
Naranasan mo na ba ang alinman sa mga ito?
Naranasan ito ng isang kaibigan ko. She was working 70-80 hours a week, slept 3-4 hours a night, and skipped all social activities. Gusto na niyang iwanan ang kanyang corporate job and take her real estate business off the ground. Sa loob ng isang taon, she developed an illness where she couldn’t walk ng ilang buwan.
Ito ay stress induced by the pounding she put on her mind and body from “grinding”.
Another former colleague, a software engineer, was tasked to develop a new set of features para sa tech company na pinagtatrabahuhan niya. He ended up working 12-14 hours a day, six days a week, and he stopped exercising. He simply didn’t have time for anything else. Halos hindi na niya nakita ang kanyang mga anak.
Ito ay humantong sa kanyang marriage falling apart, him feeling depressed, and gaining unhealthy weight.
And he never got to ship the features on time either.
Grinding, hustling, and sacrificing sleep is not a guarantee for success.
You don’t have to hustle, grind, and stress yourself to the limits to get stuff done.
I believe that you can get the important things done in the time you have without sacrificing your health, family, and things that matter to you.
Don’t get me wrong. Working hard o pagsusumikap ay isang magandang katangian. Tulad ng anumang bagay, taking it to extremes is unhealthy. You can work hard for 3-5 hours a day and accomplish more than most people can in 12-hour days.
Paano?
Well, here are two “secrets”.
ONE, NOT EVERYTHING ON YOUR TO-DO LIST NEEDS TO BE DONE.
This is going to sound controversial ngunit hayaan mo akong magpaliwanag. If everything on your to-do list looks equally important, nothing is. Picking up your kids from school is as important as cleaning out your closet?
I don’t think so.
Palaging may mga Gawain na mas mahalaga kaysa sa iba. It’s up to you to identify which one’s matter and which don’t. It’s a fool’s game to think you can get everything done on your to-do list.
TWO, IT IS UNNECESSARY TO WORK MORE THAN 8 HOURS A DAY.
Sigurado akong nagkaroon ka ng mga araw kung saan naging produktibo ka na maaari kang umalis sa opisina bago mag-2pm and called it a day. It’s an outdated model of how we work. You can accomplish the same number of results in 3 hours of focused time as you would on a regular 8-hour workday.
To help you with this, check this website Productive at Home, that will show you how to become superhuman productive without sacrificing your life. Double your productivity by Working from home.
Ang pag-aaral kung paano maiwasan ang pagka-burnout ay isang game-changer para sa iyong mental health, productivity, motivation and marami pang iba. It’s crucial to learn how to manage your stress upang hindi ito maging panghabang-buhay na isyu.
