INTERNET MARKETING – PART 1
What is an Internet Marketing?
Internet Marketing is also known as Online Marketing. Simply, this is the use of the internet in promoting your business.
I’ve been using the internet to promote my business but I haven’t got a satisfying result.
I’m not certain if what’s in your mind is close to that statement.
If you’ve been using the internet to promote your business, the question that you need to answer is “what were the means you used in promoting it? and how did you do it”?
Commonly, you’ve posting it in your social media accounts, like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.
If this is what you’ve done, your only possible clients or customers will be those who are on your friend’s list. So, it is limited. But it’s not bad because what you’ve done is one of the basics of internet marketing which is posting but there’s more to it.
Traditional Marketing vs. Internet Marketing
Today we are in a digital information era. Wherever you go as long as there is the existence of internet, you can access any information you want, and you can contact a person wherever in the side of the world he or she is located. This is oneof the great advantages of using the internet.
Now, what if you try to use this in your business?
There are two kinds of Marketing. These are Internet Marketing and Traditional Marketing.
Let’s take a look at their differences.
Traditional Marketing
Traditional Marketing is the first that you will do whenever you put up your business. You advertise your business, using printed materials like newspapers, brochures, flyers, magazines, pamphlets.
You even go to radio stations and let them advertise it. You post tarpaulins and banners on the street. This is how traditional marketing works and it’s proven that itreally helps a business to generate high income.
High Costs, Limited Return
Satisfied customers may disseminate their satisfaction about your products but still, your market is limited in a certain place only. If you want to expand your target market, you must expand your advertisement by means of promoting yourbusiness using a national newspaper, magazines, national radio stations and even the television.
Traditional marketing gives an advantage, if the target market of your business is only those in your or near your local area.
Choosing to promote your business traditionally is expensive but the results it provides can’t surpass your overhead costs.
Places with no Internet Connections
Traditional Marketing is the root of Internet Marketing. To understand more its concept, let’s try to go back to the times when Traditional Marketing is at its peak.
To make it simple, Traditional Marketing works best during the time when the internet was not yet able to reach theremote and the few urban areas of a certain
place. Meaning, Traditional Marketing suits the areas where there are no internet connections. In terms of audience, if your target markets are those who were born before the Generation X (born from 1965 to 1976), it is best to use Traditional Marketing.
Since these are the generation where the internet was just introduced to them lately but still they prefer to get information in a traditional way. Probably, these are the people who are nearly to their senior age.
Limited Connection
In Traditional Marketing, you can’t establish a continuous connection with your audience unless they have provided youtheir contact details.
Commonly, if you’re planning to launch or you launched a new product, the only way you caninform your possible clients will be through another sort of advertising. This will only be your option because you are notable to build connections with the audience.
Besides that, it’s rare that you can track the results of your marketing based on areas, ages, interests etc. You have no basison how many audiences your advertisement reach.
You already know some of the advantage and disadvantage of Traditional Marketing. Now, it’s also time for you to knowthe concept of Internet Marketing.
Internet Marketing
Vice versa, there are things that Internet Marketing can’t do but Traditional Marketing can. In order for you to start Online Marketing for your business, the most important thing you must have is Social Media Accounts.
Why do you need those accounts?
Practically, social media is the reason why the world becomes smaller. Anytime, anywhere so long as there is internet connection you can reach anybody with a single press of “send or enter” key.
Besides having Social Media Accounts, you must also have a blog or a website. If you have technical knowledge, you cancreate your own website or blog.
How about for those who don’t have any knowledge in creating websites?
Today, creating a blog or a website is not already an issue because there are many do-it-yourself website builders with ready-made templates available in the internet.
In fact, you can also let somebody do it for you. Just outsource it indifferent freelancing sites and you can find freelancers who are offering cheap price that offers a quality of work that is more than of what you paid.
You can also do this if you are having the problem on what to write in the content of your website.
On the succeeding chapters, you are going to find out the different types of Internet Marketing together with itsadvantages and downsides.
TYPES OF INTERNET MARKETING – PART 2
There are several types of Internet Marketing you can find out if you are going to search it in Google. But as of now, what will be introduced to you are the basic types.
Blog Marketing
In order to introduce yourself to Blog Marketing, you must have knowledge what a blog is. So, what is a blog?
A blog can become your personal diary or journal. It is where you can post, express and share your thoughts. It’s like a social media, the only difference, if you want somebody to read your posts in your blog, you are the one who looks for your audience. Technically, your blog is your personal discussion website because you can communicate with your audience through the comment box.
You already know what a blog is; let’s now shift to Blog Marketing.
Blog Marketing is the use of the blog to promote your business to your respective audience. You can either have a blog or a website, or you can have both at the same time.
In a blog, you can directly connect with your audience. This is the best way to prove them that you have the credibility in your business by means of answering their questions and sharing some helpful tips to solve their problems. This gives them the confidence to try your products or services.
Social Media Marketing (SMM)
Social Media Marketing is the method of utilizing the different social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. to promote your product, at the same time to increase your brand awareness.
Exposing your business in the Social Media is totally free; all you just need to do is to sign up for an account. If you want to have higher conversion rate, you have to invest some amount of your money.
There is nothing to worry about the cost because it is lower compared to traditional marketing. Using SMM also gives you the opportunity to interact with your audience directly.
Keep in mind that in starting a paid marketing, always remember to take baby steps. Don’t put all the sum of your money in a single leap. If your advertisement is expected to run for more than a single day, just pay for two days then wait for the results before having another set of paid ads.
Social Media offers free different tools which help you determine on how does your marketing works. In a social media, you can engage a specific audience with the same interest.
At end of your chosen social network will show you the results of your marketing which can give you an idea on what to do next.Keeping in touch with your customers is one way to develop customer loyalty.
Customers don’t only view the social media as a place where to promote your products. Instead, they also see it as their direct way to communicate with your business.
Video Marketing
Most Online Marketing experts will agree that a marketing campaign that includes a relevant picture is more appealing in the eyes of the market rather than those without pictures. But, how much more if there is an inclusion of a video?
Video Marketing is simply the incorporation of videos in your marketing campaign. It’s like a television commercial with a broader audience. This is a strong marketing strategy to promote your brand, product or service. But how will you use it? What videos should you include? By placing yourself in the shoes of a customer, what we always want to see before buying a product or services is the result. In the video, you can include some of your customer’s testimonials, a
story of your product, a demo of your services, the actual location of your business and so much more.YouTube is the best available video marketing platform in the internet that you can use. In fact, a recent study found out that 57 percent of online consumers were more likely to buy a product after watching a video demonstration.
E-mail Marketing
If you have worked as an appointment setter in a BPO company, that’s how e-mail marketing works. The only difference is you do it in a form of an electronic mail. To integrate e-mail marketing in your business, the primary requirement you must have is the email address of your possible customers.
But how would you do this?
In sending an email, you don’t want to get a reply asking, “How did you get my email?” There’s a way on how to avoidthis and one is giving freebies in exchange for their emails.
Through email marketing, you can build rapport with your target clients by sending them a sequence of emails that promote your product or services that solve their problem. This is also one way to convince your previous customers to try or avail your new products and services.
Thanks to effective email marketing software, you can build and maintain an email list by determining whether newsletters arebeing opened or not. You can easily monitor how effective a marketing campaign is. Yes. Email Marketing is a valuable way to stay connected with your target market.
IS INTERNET MARKETING FOR YOU? – PART 3

How would you know if internet marketing is for you?
The answer to this question relies on how deep you understand the potentials of your business. The content can serve as your guide in understanding if should your business really go for online marketing or not.

Low Costs
The expensive costs of marketing are one of the reasons why some other businesses have poor marketing. But in Internet Marketing, this is not the case because you can start marketing your products and services at low costs with a guarantee ofhigh return.
Global Market
A business income is dependent on the number of your market. If you can’t afford to market your business nationally, expect that your income will be stable at a certain point. But in Internet Marketing, introducing your product to the world is not a problem because it will not cost so much compared to what you paid to mass media.
Easy to reach Target Audience
Online Marketing platforms have access to the different information provided by their users in their profile. This is what they use to locate the demographics of your specific audience. If you want your marketing campaign to be visible only to a certain place with a common interest, that is possible.
It gives detailed Result
With Online Marketing, you can get the result of your marketing campaigns immediately after it lapsed.
It runs 24/7
This is one of the huge advantages of Internet Marketing. Your marketing campaign can run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without your supervision.
The CONS of Internet Marketing
Stiff Competition
You don’t compete locally, instead, you compete globally. With the rapid use of the internet, it’s difficult to make your marketing campaign to be on the top for a certain period of time. The more the competition gets tougher, the more youwill spend.
It takes time to gain trust
With the ramp of people using Online Marketing together with the several issues of scams, hack, identity theft etc., it takes some time to gain the trust of your audience particularly if they don’t have a hands-on basis about your products andservices.
Time Consuming
First impression lasts. If you wish your audience to go back to your business, you must spend some time building a good impression about your business. If you are going to use Blog Marketing, make sure that your first post comprises of 10 different articles. The following post should at least be in just a span of few days and you must do this consistently. Once you build a higher traffic, you can shift your posting schedule to once a week.
How Can it Boost your Business Profit?
Business is not just about products and services. It’s more of building relationships and connections. The more you get connected to people, the higher the chance for your income to increase if you are able to build a good relationship.
In building a good relationship, you must remove in your vocabulary the “sell immediately mindset.” Getting connection could be easier but building relationship is different as it takes time and patience. A good relationship with your customers helps you leverage your business by means of their voluntary referrals, testimonials, and reviews they provided in yourbusiness.
Online Marketing also gives you the opportunity to meet like-minded people who can sooner become a part of your team or abusiness partner.
How Do You Get Started?
Invest in Yourself
Prior to applying online marketing in your business, the most important requirement you should do is to invest inyourself. Study the anatomy of online marketing; don’t attempt to stay away from this.
Once you’ve done it, you are like a driver traversing a less traveled road who doesn’t have any ideas on what to do if suddenly a mechanical defect happened in your car.
I am not telling that you should learn every part, what I’m saying is just master the basics because you will not have an idea on how internet marketing works if you are not equipped with the basics. This is also one way to lessen your expenses if you can do the basics.
You can do research, and try to learn online marketing by yourself, but you must admit that this is a long-term process because you need to go for trial and error.
If you want to jumpstart your learning curve, you can look for a business coach or mentor who will guide you throughout your online marketing journey.
Be Consistent
Apply immediately what you’ve learned from your mentors. Don’t let it stay in your mind for a long period of time as it will become a rusty iron. Upon starting to apply it, have a consistent mindset. The person who procrastinates less is the one who gets close and sooner he will achieve his goals.
Focus on Your Target Audience
Know your specific audience. Make your own buyer persona. This is a detailed description of your ideal customer. The focus in reaching your ideal customer is to stay on a single niche as much as possible. If what you sell is beauty products, don’t attempt to sell gadgets.
Outsource
Previously, it was mentioned that you only need the basic and this is definitely true. As there are a lot of people waiting to do the rest of the tasks for you, and you can found them in different freelancing sites. You can also leverage other business’ system to your own business by learning how it works and how it will help you increase your conversion rate.
